Executive Director (Hiring for 2026-2027): El Rio Community School serves over 350 students in grades TK-8, and grew to its full TK-8 grade span in the 2025-26 school year. As we continue to grow and prepare for our first charter renewal in 2027-28, El Rio is seeking a committed and collaborative school leader eager and prepared to work with an invested community of teachers, parents, and students to take El Rio to foster a stable and thriving school environment.

After School Programs Teaching Assistants: Help supervise our TK through 7th grade students in grade-level cohorts after school, engaging them in artistic activities, outdoor games, and more. Must be available 12:30-5:30PM, Monday through Thursday and 11:30-5:30PM Fridays. Recess shifts are available as training with the option to pick up in addition to above hours. Hourly rate starts at $20/hour.

After School Program Coordinator: The Aftercare Coordinator leads the planning, supervision, and daily operations of the school’s aftercare program. This includes directly supervising a team of Aftercare Assistants, maintaining a safe and enriching environment for students, and coordinating schedules, programming, and communication with staff and families.

Substitute Teachers for Grades TK-8th: We occasionally need substitutes to provide instructional and classroom management support for absent teachers - lesson plans are provided. A substitute teaching permit or regular CA teaching is required.

Pedagogical Coordinator: The Waldorf Pedagogical Coordinator will serve as an instructional leader, mentor, and collaborator for faculty, ensuring that the curriculum is aligned with both Waldorf education principles and state standards through the Gradalis compendium used by the school. This position involves regular classroom observation, coaching, curriculum development support, and oversight of teacher professional development. 

Resource Specialist Program (RSP) Teachers: El Rio Community School seeks a compassionate, organized, and collaborative Resource Specialist Program (RSP) Teacher to support students with learning differences in accessing a developmentally aligned, Waldorf-inspired public school education. The RSP Teacher plays a vital role in supporting students with IEPs by developing and delivering individualized instruction, collaborating with classroom teachers, and guiding families through the special education process. The ideal candidate values whole-child education, believes in the potential of every student, and can balance compliance with creativity in meeting student needs. Bilingual (Spanish) highly preferred.
